ALL IN Festival – La Luz Sunday, September 4, 2022

Photos and Review by Laura Fox (LLFoxphotos)

If you close your eyes when you listen to La Luz, you might think you were hearing the soundtrack of a Quentin Tarantino movie. The quartet combines ‘60s surf music with a bit of dreamy psychedelia to create tunes that are both retro and fresh. They remind me a little of The Black Keys, but with subtle harmonies and an almost-lo-fi sound.

The band, which consists of Shana Cleveland on lead vocals and guitar, Alice Sandahl on keyboard and vocals, Audrey Simon on bass and vocals and Lena Simon on the drum kit, is gearing up for a West-Coast tour in November. If you’re out that way, you should definitely check them out!
