As the thunderstorm passed on the summer night of 8/1 at Everwise Amphitheater , Coheed and Cambria took the stage, with a performance that enforced their reputation as a rock powerhouse.

They opened their set with “In Keeping The Secrets of Silent Earth : 3” which was met with screams and applause and a full crowd sing along. Over the course of this 8 minute song Coheed and Cambria led by Claudio Sanchez, drew in the fans with their unique blend of sci-fi narratives and intricate rock compositions.

Their setlist was a great mix of classic tracks, new works, and fan favorites. A great showcase of their discography. A highlight to me was their hit song “Welcome Home” with Claudio Sanchez sporting the double neck guitar. The crowd sang along and headbanged, while witnessing intricate guitar solos, captivating drum breaks, and powerful bass notes.

The visuals of the show were equally immersive. The stage was adorned with colorful lights, fog, and lasers, bringing the songs emotions out with visuals. The lights shined off the highlights in Claudio’s hair making for a really cool look!

Coheed and Cambria delivered a very memorable performance for all in attendance. Those who came for Primus had to have left as a Coheed and Cambria fan as well. The energy of the band was infectious along with the sounds of their instruments and voices, made for a set that was a testament to their longevity in the industry.
