Wiz Khalifa's set in Noblesville, Indiana, started out on a high note (no pun intended) with the rapper standing alone on the upper stage, arms raised, declaring, "My name is Wiz Khalifa, and I love weeeeeed!" From that point forward, the vibe was pretty much all about weed and feeling good.
Unfortunately, some people on the lawn didn't pick up on the happy vibes, and a fight broke out about halfway through the set. Although I left a few minutes before this happened, and details on what exactly transpired are still sketchy, I do know the fight escalated and there were reports of gunfire (which the Hamilton County Sheriff's office says are unfounded). As word of the alleged shooting spread through the venue, the show abruptly stopped and the performers and crew were whisked off the stage. Some concertgoers took cover, others ran for the exit gates and even climbed over fences to escape. In the end, the venue was evacuated, no gun was found, and nobody was arrested. Three people were transported to the hospital and later released. Many more (including our scheduled reviewer) suffered minor physical injuries and/or emotional trauma.
Although it's highly unlikely a gun made its way into the Ruoff Music Centre, the fact that a few individuals ruined what was otherwise a really fun, chill night makes me extremely angry. I hope Karma smacks them on the head - hard - for being jerks in our happy place.
